Description
These gorgeous poppies caught my eye yesterday on my way to buy groceries for my mother's household. They are so beautiful, vibrant, and full of life....it was like an antidote for all of the coping with the idea of dying and death over the last 7 months.
I found in one interpretation, based in Classical mythology, red poppies symbolize the promise of resurrection after death. I find this strange and fascinating considering my current circumstances....facing the approaching death of a loved one.
"There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living."
Nelson Mandela
That we find a crystal or a poppy beautiful means that we are less alone, that we are more deeply inserted into existence than the course of a single life would lead us to believe.
