Description
My winged friends were back to visit early in the morning after my first night home. After several months away I wondered if they'd be there still. I was in heaven having a few days home to rest and rejuvenate before the next phase of hospice care for a loved one. These little ones are so communicative and they come very close to my body....a trust that means the world to me. This little Rufous in particular has her favorite spots from which she cocks her head, flashes, and "talks" to me. She sometimes follows me up the road a quarter of a mile or so when I walk. This sweet bond never ceases to amaze me. It fills me with love, and a sense of calmness and peace that I badly need at present. I am becoming a novice birder...so fascinated am I with all that I can observe from even the confines of my small porch.
"Like the hummingbird sipping nectar from every flower, I fly joyfully through my days, seeing beauty in everything."
