I'm glad you like it Brian...Thank you! I just gave a framed copy of this to my sister for Mother's Day....our first since our mom passed away two months ago. This was the photo I put up at the funeral...one I took of her many, many years ago.

Thank you Colleen! This photo is my very favorite of my mother....so amazing to see her like this...a completely unguarded, spontaneous moment. It's important I think, at some point in our lives, to be able to start to see our parents as the unique individuals that they are...not just as our parents. For me, this photo does that.

Very special indeed, there is a wonderful enchantment about this photograph. V/F

Rory Siegel replied:

Thank you very much Bob! I am so happy that you felt that enchantment too. There is something in this that captivates me...maybe just seeing that unguarded moment...which shows me a whole other side of my Mom I did not really get to see very much.

Your feelings show themselves so clear in this photo. Love how you processed it. It is true, we always are young inside, even if our bodies get older and mor fragile. Sending love to you and your dear mother!

Rory Siegel replied:

Good morning Marlene! It's like finding buried treasure...some of my early 35 mm black and white photos of my family. Working with these has filled my heart with so much love and so many memories...it's elicited tears of joy and much laughter! I plan to write more about my mom in the description soon, but am going to send her this to remind her of the being that still lives inside of her...even though she is just about to turn 82 and is dealing with the harsh realities of physical ailments and living in a nursing home
