Last December (2013) I was fortunate enough to get to visit New York City for the first time...primarily to participate in the Project Imagination Film Festival Premiere.. Not being much of a city gal anymore, I was a bit leery...not sure how I'd do in such a densely populated place, but much to my surprise I had an absolutely fabulous time. Everyone I met, with the exception of one understandably cranky bus driver, was friendly, helpful, and especially in the case of my hosts, a ton of fun! My hosts, the owners of the AirBnb apartment I stayed at with one of my co-winners, were Ruth and Henry Garcia....two of the warmest, most loving and welcoming people you could ever want to meet. They'd told me via email that they would make me feel at home during my stay...and from the very first moment they did. This photo and a few others were made possible by their friend and helper Mannie....who not only came to pick me up at the airport, but then took me on a mini tour right off the bat...including stopping at this viewpoint on the Jersey side so that I could get my first view and shots of the NYC skyline. For me it was love at first sight...and I can't wait to go back!
