Thank you so much Sarah...that means a lot to me. If you have an interest, there is work of a more personal nature on my YourShot website (National Geographic beta site). I only post certain things there as they are what I consider non-commercial work...like the portraits I did of my mother and caregivers this last year of her life. Thanks again for your wonderful comment and it's nice to meet you! http://yourshot.nationalgeographic.com/profile/759148/

Thank you Kym. I can tell much about your loving heart by the work you are most drawn to (as well as that which you produce!)
Kym Backland
Rory, Everytime I see this, I am drawn into this photo! I think I have commented on it before, but since I was here, I thought I would tell you again, just how much I loved it! I hope you are well, and think of you often! Have a relaxing weekend! FV
Clotilde Espinosa
You are so right Rory...they are part of ourselves.
Rory Sagner
Thank you so much dear Clotilde! I know it's most likely just me, but there is something in this series of photos that I find to be beyond the realm of simple "family portraits." Not quite sure what it is, but there is something else there I think.
Clotilde Espinosa
Beautiful ladies Rory...I am glad you posted this family photos...love them!!! F/V.
Rory Sagner
Kym, I am so pleased that you would visit again! I so agree with you about family pictures...especially the "unposed" ones. My absolute favorite photography is to catch those incredibly precious "in-between" moments, where the essence and spirit of a person shines through without any impediments. I feel that something truly magical happens during such shooting...and a special kind of love shows up in these photos which I treasure. I actually just uploaded a new one of my mother if you care to see. Thank you for your loving and wonderful comments!
Kym Backland
Rory, I came to see more of your "portraits" in your portfolio. I see where you all get your beautiful round brown eyes! What a lovely capture! I like to see family pictures, or people's faces when they are natural... not always smiling...VF
Tina Wenger
Yes indeed Rory. My next project would be portraits of people very dear to me. In time. BTW love the poems included on some of your work. Very creative and appropriate.
Rory Sagner
Thank you so much Tina. I know from things I have read of yours that you completely understand how much these portraits mean to me.
Tina Wenger
Those eyes, those lovely eyes, they do have stories to tell. Lovely.
Rory Sagner
Thank you so much Anna....I am so glad that shines through. I LOVE doing portrait work and find it more fulfilling than almost anything else. Maybe because it allows me to see that shining and unique being that lives within each and everyone of us?
Anna Duyunova
Beautiful portrait with great feel of love and tenderness!
Drinka Mercep
Wonderful photo for all people, for all generations and all times !!! Beautiful photo and beautiful ladies :)))
Rory Siegel replied:
Oh Drinka...thank you for seeing the beautiful spirit in these portraits!
Patricia Strand
This is wonderful, and you are right about the appeal. At least I know it appeals to me!
Rory Siegel replied:
I am really glad to hear that! Thank you so much for letting me know!
Bob Orsillo
Tender and loving beautiful series. V/F
Rory Siegel replied:
Thank you so much Bob. When I look at these photos I feel so much love (and sometimes sorrow at missing them), that I cannot have a neutral "artist's eye" as to their objective photgraphic appeal. But, I do sense (and hope) that there is something universal in them that will touch the hearts of others...even those who never knew them.
Sweet Moments Photography
Beautiful portrait Rory, voted :)
Rory Siegel replied:
Thank you Marilyn!
Amy Tyler
Breathtaking portrait! I love this, Rory!!
Rory Siegel replied:
Thank you so much Amy. I do love the black and white series I did of my family...and felt (hoped) there was something rather universal about them that might touch the hearts of others.
