Thank you very much Vivian. I believe that to be truly free, one must have the courage to face all of the aspects of self....and some are far from pretty. When we are able to bring those aspects into the light of day, own them, and let go of judgment, then we can live a life that is no longer ruled by them. A worthy goal!

Dear Rory, now I see the difference...in you new photo I see how beautiful you are!
Rory Siegel replied:
Dear Clotilde...how lovely to hear from you!!! Thank you for your sweet comment! The drawing was an "exorcism" of sorts for attitudes and emotions that needed to be seen and let go of....one of the wonderful aspects of being an artist, yes? The avatar portrait is a "vintage" self portrait, one that I love because it reminds me of my old camera, darkroom, and the things that started me on this incredible journey! I was only 22 in that photo...a baby!!!

Fascinating eerie beauty! Love!
Rory Siegel replied:
I am glad you do, because it's pretty gruesome..guffaw! I call it my exorcism drawing...old cathartic self portrait that helped me let go of some poisonous feelings.

But now we KNOW and we CAN change it!! A very strong self-portrait Rory!!
Rory Siegel replied:
You are so right Clotilde, and are we not truly blessed to have such an amazing and fulfilling way to do so? This portrait was like doing a self-exorcism. Thank you for having the courage to bare your soul and inspire us all!
