Description
Leaped out of bed, threw a coat on over my nightgown, pulled on my boots, and ran out to greet an amazingly beautiful day! Can life get much better when you live in such an exquisitely beautiful place?
The Pacific Northwest is a never-ending feast for the eyes, the senses....and for the soul. This is my favorite time of year!

Thank you so much Cheri! Yes, it's a testament to it truly being the "process" of engaging our work that is the great joy. The end result as I always say, is the frosting!

Rory, cute comment in your description. Funny, I did the same thing last Sunday in Louisiana, those early morning fog captures yield some lovely, intriguing compositions. This is truly glorious! Gave this one a vote here and in the January Landscape contest, too. v

Yes Jane, it's a short walk to where I took this photograph although the view from my porch is pretty spectacular too! I feel truly blessed everyday to live in such a beautiful land and to see it go through all the changes of the seasons. One of the reasons that this is my favorite time of year is because it does seem to me a time of quiet and inward contemplation. As my great teacher taught me, the trees shed their pasts (the dead leaves) and are dreaming a new future into being during the dormant winter months. Following Nature's example in this tends to make us more quiet and contemplative during the cold season...and we too can dream a new reality into being from such a state of stillness and peace.

So this place is that close to your house Rory! How wondrous. There is such a quality of stillness to this image. I love the delicate pastel coloured sky, and the chilling feel of the frost and the majestic trees. ..and the light..How very meditative this is. Beautiful. v/f
