Description
You look so different
In your innocent slumber,
As I lay close and still beside you
I think,
Perhaps even humble.
Quietly, I watch.
Our bodies breathing as one body,
Know more than we do.
In the womb of your
intoxicating warmth,
I am enraptured.
I see only the line of your lips
In profile as you sleep,
The flutter of caterpillar lashes,
Your face softened by the momentary absence,
Of needing to be right.
You look so different
Than when I must strain to see,
Across the chasm of our impossible beliefs.
And in this moment,
I forget what I know,
And only want to be yours.

Rory, This is quite spectacular. I am so glad you commented about one of my images on FAA today because that led me to your site. The poetry in the description is elegantly written and it touches my heart. F/V

Rory, unusual combination of elements - sharp & soft - makes an interesting composition. Gave it a vote here & in the Pallette Contest also.
Rory Siegel replied:
Thank you Cheri! I really appreciate you not only taking the time to look at some of my work, but your insightful comments. I learn a lot from them!

Intense proximity of lending sexual needs...contact is not always a penetrating decision. Dreams receive our needs and answer our questions, and the sensuality they emanate is here in this image, so beautifully blended with words. An strange world of proximity, as if a relation would be experienced via an emotioal microscope Rosa (F&V)
Rory Siegel replied:
Emotional microscope...now that is very apt as this work is an offshoot of my Biology series. Thank you so much Rosa, for taking the time to explore some of my work. I appreciate your comments very much! And, congratulations again on being named Artist of the Week in the Women Artist group!

The poem.... a longing.... can't say much more.... But it deeply moved me, & pains me in the same sentence. I love this painting & the poem made me aware that my heart is still beating.... :)
Rory Siegel replied:
I am happy Carla that this touched your heart. A healer I once knew told me that often our experience of pain is when we are finally releasing the energy of what was up until that point, stuck. Thank you for your honesty and openness.
