After far too long away, finally I came home to rest.. Home to my beloved wilderness, where these tiny, fearless beings come to commune with me every single day. Together we stood in the rain, breathing in the peace and silence of freshly washed air. They reminded me so sweetly, to savor and embrace the fullness of each moment, even those we find difficult and painful, that while we may relish the warmth of the sun, to also savor rain.

This little beauty, a female Anna's Hummer, was not one bit daunted by a gentle summer shower.

I do find it a natural part of this work, to write about the experiences I have when taking these photos...the story so to speak. After all, with photography as with any form of creative expression, it is what is within us that is determining what we as Observers observe and magnetize into our field of awareness. What we are drawn to photograph and how we photograph it is who we are, and a window into how we not only see the world, but how we as Observers create it.

Then we have the honor and joy of sharing that vision with others.

Yes Rory, I often wonder too, how differently different people see pictures differently, and more often than not miss subtle, but perfect element of an image. But then again, if we would all like the same image, or things in general, it would be a very drab world... :-)
