Description
This was taken one day in February when I had errands to run in downtown Portland, Oregon....one of the most livable cities I've ever visited....and where I was born and raised. I was shooting from the rooftop of a parking building and happened to notice that the surrounding buildings were mirrored in the front of one of the rather larger buildings I was facing. I loved how this looked and it reminded me of things I've read about mirrored (or parallel) realities....what is real and what is not....and how our brains cannot always really tell the difference and will send signals to the body as if the reflection of what we are seeing was really the thing itself.
"I love mirrors. They let one pass through the surface of things."
Claude Chabrol
"Above all, I craved to seize the whole essence, in the confines of one single photograph, of some situation that was in the process of unrolling itself before my eyes."
Henri Cartier-Bresson
