Thank you Helena! I love photographic abstracts and have been experimenting. These fall leaves, the colors, shadows and shapes that came through in the photograph, just looked like an abstract painting to me!
Helena Wierzbicki
Very charming shapes and colors, beautifully done, Rory !!! Voted

wow! great stuff for a 1st!!! Hope to see some charcoal work from you too soon?? ;) about the mountains of leaves... hope you brought out your inner child & jumped into them! or rolled.. with a friend?? ;) :D ha ha Great work as usual!
Rory Siegel replied:
Well...my DOG did while I was trying to rake them off the grass...guffaw! I am working on cleaning up enough stuff to maybe make some room to do some more charcoal and painting.

Love it, besides beautiful colors and leaves I see mysterious shapes..now my painting in progress looks so empty!!
Rory Siegel replied:
Me too Clotilde...which is why I wanted to do something "different" with it. When I looked at the original photo, I "saw" an abstract in the rough and wanted to bring that out of the photo. And, whatever process your painting requires.....it's oh SO worth it! Can't wait to see!!!!

all these gorgeous images of Fall, my favorite season, & its sneaking up upon us!!! This image is so vibrant with color! so rich... I cant wait now to decorate my home with Autumn Decor. Great job Rory! A V&F!! :)
Rory Siegel replied:
Thank you Carla, that is very kind! Yes, I actually can feel Fall in the air in the early morning here already...amazing... as my tomatoes are just finally ripening...so I am not ready for that yet. Where I live we usually have perfect September weather so hoping that will be the case this year. I did this piece because (1) I went to edit one that was in the same grouping that someone here was kind enough to comment on and (2) because I have been so inspired by Pamela Cooper's work and some others here, that I wanted to try out some digital painting. It was a blast although I am a bit overwhelmed with how much there is to learn! This was from a photo I took a couple of years ago of a huge tree in the backyard of where I used to live, one that produced and dropped so many leaves after it's blaze of glory, that it literally created mountains of them!
Pamela Cooper
Nicely done, Rory!!
Rory Siegel replied:
Pamela....coming from you that absolutely MAKES my day!!! Thank you!
