They came my first morning home, to thrill and delight me, to renew our communion, to remind me of the joy and freedom of a life well lived. They told me that joy is a choice....and one we can make each moment of every day. These messengers of joy, they give me the gift of their presence every day, allowing me to come within even a few feet of them, in my passionate attempt to share their magnificence with the world.

I will hold their image, and the memory of their vibrating wings within inches of my grateful body...the grace and sureness of their inspired flight, I will hold it in my heart and mind to sustain me in the days to come.
