Description
"As I stand alone in Your great silence, in the midst of me there blazes a pure light, and it fills every atom of my whole being with its great radiance. Life, Love, Strength, Purity, Beauty, Perfection, stand forth in all dominion within me. As I gaze into the very heart of this light, I see another light, - liquid, soft, golden-white and radiantly luminous - absorbing, mothering and giving forth the caressing fire of the Greater Light. Now I know that I am God and one with God's whole universe. I whisper to God and I am undisturbed."

Well Barbara....that and I did not have a tripod...LOL! Thank you! There's actually a pretty funny story behind this shot, but it's too long to tell here...

Aha! Yes! I know in part why your self-portraits struck a chord, Rory, for I also have always hidden behind my camera.....😉 Your expertise is both intuitive and creative!! l/f

Wow Marilyn...you sure know how to make my day...guffaw! There's a funny story behind this photo. A newspaper reporter wanted to interview me earlier this year and we had agreed on the phone that she would only take a headshot of me to go with the article as I am camera shy about full body shots (or really even any shots of me). Instead, when it was time for her to take the photo, she started backing up to do a full body shot. I was not happy that she was breaking our agreement and started to say something, but did not want to be rude. Next thing I know, her camera would not work! She said, "this is so weird because I just charged the battery before I came here." Since I am of the belief that our minds are powerful creators of reality, I was pretty sure it was my fault that her camera battery had suddenly lost it's charge...guffaw! So, since she still needed a photo, I went inside and did my own headshot shooting into a mirror...and this was the result!

A beautiful women. Still love this picture. You look so regal, moviestar like. What a great picture. Love the black and white. We should all look so good. Fantastic.

Gawd Marilyn...talk about making my day...guffaw!!! What an absolutely awesome compliment. I LOVE Katherine Hepburn...and many of the actors and actresses of her day. Funny you would say this because when I was younger I was often told that I looked like Maureen O'Hara who I also adored. I feel a really strong affinity with the music and movies of that time period for some reason...even though I was a child of the 60s. Jo Stafford is one of my favorites for example. Thanks again!

Beautiful. You remind me of the movie star Katherine Hepburn. You have that certain look.

Thank you so much Canis...that is very kind! I agree with you too as usually I like the B & W versions better, but for some reason I actually think this came out with better contrast in color.

I almost always like B&W photos best, but with this one, I actually like the color equally well. Beautiful self portrait :)
